Very light aroma, some sweet malt with touch of bitterness. Average white head, dark amber/ruby look. Wide solid flavour, not a shy beer. A bit understated, really good flavour doesn’t last to land. Shame it could be something really nice.

Pretty good, but pretty much just an average English bitter, nice drinking.

Brown in color, small tan head that had a good hold time then faded slowly to a nice lace.Malty, semi sweet aroma with a decent fruit and hop presence.Nice malty flavor with a good fruit and caramel taste some hops and a very mild bitterness towards the end. After it warms a bit i started getting a slight metallic aroma and taste but nothing to over powering. It’s not bad but i can’t say that it would be a brew that i would like to see alot of.

Umber color with a moderate but stable tan head and some streaks of lace. Caramel and floor malt dominate with just a hint of floral hops. Some toasted whole grain and light sourdough aromas as well. Sweet earthy malt start with a mild balance of nutty flavors and a minimal balance of weedy hops. A longer hops finish, but not an exciting one, just some bitterness that sticks to the tongue and perhaps calls for some satiation, but is not answered by the next swig. Another disapointment from the MJ500.

Dark reddish brown apperance, aroma is malty caramel and herbal. A decent example of the style although perhaps a bit atypical due to a darker malt personality than I would expect. The overall result is not very distinctive, not inspiring me to reach for another.

Bottle. Nice fresh aroma for starters. Its a shame that the rest of the beer is a bit of a wimp. More bitterness, please!

Part of an English Bitter tasting in Ocean NJ on 10/06/2007. Nice looking beer pouring a clear dark amber with a finger and half of sticky head. Aroma is buttery with nutty woody tones. Nice toffee malt character with a stinging earthy hop finish.

Brown with tan head.Decent carmel nose.Lightly acidic or vinegary carmel malt flavor with soft lingering hop finish. Would like to try again
