Another winner from several new (to me) English ales that I have purchased recently. This is, simply put, good beer. It’s not Imperial anything, it does not have extra extra hops or malt, or funny flavorings - no, it is just a well made, good tasting beer. Sometimes that’s what this is all about. This is real tasty stuff!

Bottle. Pours a very clear dark brown color with a moderate light tan head on there. Nose seems to have quite a few grains coming through, and only a little grassiness on the nose. Taste is pretty light and only very slightly bitter, and hints of toasted caramel. OK, but nothing great.

Bottled. Clear brown color with small off white head. Aroma of prunes, honey. Light body, lively carbonated. Light sweet malty beginning with moderate fruity esters with dry finish and assertive bitterness. Some metalic tones in flavor. Easy to drink.
