Another winner from several new (to me) English ales that I have purchased recently. This is, simply put, good beer. It’s not Imperial anything, it does not have extra extra hops or malt, or funny flavorings - no, it is just a well made, good tasting beer. Sometimes that’s what this is all about. This is real tasty stuff!

0,5l bottle. Clear deep copper colour with medium lasting short off-white head. Aroma: Caramel with a bit cheese yeasty caracter and boozey notes. Taste: Sweet malty start with a pleasent bitter mouthfeel. Quite drinkable and has a creamy texture. Light/medium body with average carbonation. Medium lasting pleasent bitter finish. Good and drinkable.

Has a dirty amber appearance with a thin head. Not much going on aroma wise. Some caramel and malts. The taste is of toffee, roasted malts, and a light white pepper finish. Fairly sweet with low bitterness. This is a good session ale. Price Paid: Free bottle.

pityu (622) - Budapest, HUNGARY - AUG 9, 2016
Bottle - Clear reddish colour, medium and quickly melting off-white head. Fruity aromas with some breadcrust, herbal hops and caramel. Taste is well balanced bittersweet with some caramel, dried fruits, herbal hops. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, a bit watery mouthfeel, dry finish. Easy drinkable ale with decent fruitiness. Well balanced, but not a big one.

Pours a dark clear copper colour with a nice 2 finger head. Left good lacing on the glass. Tastes of carmel, fruit, bitter and bread. Not bad, but not a stand out. My Canadian Can was 5.2%. Weird. I liked it but not enough to chase it down. Well’s makes better.

Clear ruby color, thin tan head with low retention. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits, candy, figs. Taste of caramel, dried fruits, some hoppiness. Dry in finish, disappointingly watery, average to high carbonation. Not bad at all.
