Beer Snob (348), Ontario, Canada Mar 26, 2004 Beautiful looking beer - ruby red and not too carbonated. A delicious bitter, mild aftertaste, only drawback is that it could have a bit more bitterness. But that's quibling, this is a great ale.
Allen (559), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Aug 18, 2008 Bottled 50cl. It pours a beautiful dark amber beer with a tanned head. The nose is of raisins, caramel, apricots and brown sugar. Caramel, apricots and raisins in the taste. Notes of brown sugar showing up. Rather sweet. Nice lacework. Medium to full bodied. Low bitterness. Huge amounts of candy floss in the finish. madquacker (473), Canberra ACT, Australia Aug 16, 2008 Copper hue with a small head. Aroma of spice. Sweet and spicy. Better than the average English ale. Better at low temps. Nice beer. joshiez (40), USA Aug 12, 2008 dark amber, low head....clean taste and creamy ale flavor....good stuff....I really like this! Cruzan59 (130), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 29, 2008 1pt 3.25oz bottle from Bayville Package Store, Fenwick Island, DE...pours reddish-brown, medium white head...smell of toffee and dark fruits...flavor was much of the same with some bitterness. FunkyBrewster (114), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small off-white frothy head. Aroma is very malty and fruity, mostly dark fruits like plum and raisin. Flavor starts out very malty and sweet. The hop presence never really appears and it seems only to get sweeter through the finish, to an almost candy-like taste. Maybe a tiny bit of bitterness lingered but it seems a little too sweet. Medium body. Not too bad, just a bit too sweet and not bitter enoguh to rank higher.
