jeff789 (57), Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2008 very sweet malty aroma.... little hop presence, but quite a bit of maltiness, and a huge amount of sweet caramel malts... Good mouthfeel... sweet finish with mild mild bitterness
Muggus69 (253), Sydney, Australia Sep 22, 2008 500ml bottle BB 31/03/09.
Pours a clean deep amber body with thick beige head leaving lace on the way down.
Muted spicy hops on the nose, bit of toffee malt and subtle fruit.
Drying texture, bit on the watery side considering its strength, sticky texture, quite a good bitter hit.
Grainy malts on the body, caramel and raisin, earthy hops make a presence with a bit of leafy citrus on a dry bitter finish.
Stock standard bottled bitter to me. I do recall it being very fresh and fragrant off cask, so maybe thats influenced my judgement. Bragesnak (1338), Aarhus, Denmark Sep 21, 2008 Cockney Pub, Aarhus, DK.
