(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful amber coloured beer with a small, off-white head. Medium body with a solid, malty base and typical British notes of caramel and nuts. Weak touch of something reminding me of exotic fruits. Josephine Grimbley was the woman who married Charles Wells making him give up his life as a sailor and start as a brewer instead. 260101

Cask Conditioned at The Wheatsheaf, Banbury. Brown beer, no head. Very poor fare, but probably more to do with the pub than the beer. Sour bitterness and little depth. Very unfortunate.
