Based on the Great British pudding, full of rich sticky toffee-ness.

Bottle. Very dark amber pour with a smaller beige head. Lots of vanilla in the aroma. Creamy and sweet. This is growing on me.

"Too low a percentile on rb and too high on here. I thought this was good and exactly as advertised, do some of the lowball scores make no sense, but to each his own. A nice looking mahogany pour. Aroma and flavor heavy with toffee but balanced with some earthy hops, with a lighter body that prevents it from being cloying. Won’t get a lot but I’ll have it again I’m sure."

Bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a fair head. Aroma of toffee, malt, vanila and dark fruit. Taste of toffee, dark fruit and bit of malt. Mild bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Mediumbody, smooth with an interesting feel. Decent beer but a tad sweet.

Pours a three finger khaki head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. dark brown color, no highlights. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Toffee nose and flavor is toffee then some hop bitterness. Not bad but a one time good deal for me. $3.49 for a 330ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

bottle. Deep amber with one finger head. Very nice sticky toffee aroma. Flavor follows with mild hop bitterness. This worked much better than I was expecting it to.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep ruby with a one finger, cream head that laces. Aroma has nice notes of caramel, toffee, and fruity esters. Taste is balanced but a touch sweet. Notes of caramel, toffee, and a hint of pudding. Medium body and texture with a pretty clean mouth feel. Overall a not bad beer. I do get the toffee and pudding flavours but they need to be more prominent.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer & Beyond, Tel Aviv. Clear brown with low beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, dulce de leche. Flavor of toffee, light sweet, woody, medium bitterness. Feels like English bitter. Medium carbonation. Dry.

This smelled like a tootsie roll. The color looked like a nice dark brown. It tasted like a bad brown ale. Don’t waste your money.

My wife was seduced by the label and brought this swill home. I do enjoy some of what Wells makes, including Bombardier, but this offering is inferior. Artificial coloring ( just toast the malts, for Petes Sake), and added ’natural flavors’ make this a witch’s brew of fake flavor, fake color...which makes me wonder as to the quality of the original product. I refuse to bother anymore with beers with flavorings added after the brewing process is completed. If Wells wanted a vanilla toffee flavor, why couldn’t they have gone the extra mile and added some demerera or burnt sugar, thrown some real vanilla beans into the fermenter and upped the dextrins for a nice, malty, naturally sweet product? This stuff tastes like a cheap, thin, bitter pilsener disguised with coloring and flavoring into an ale that was never meant to be. And they have the nerve to charge $11 a four-pack?! I like to give credit where credit is due, but this is a hilarious discredit to all quality ales from England.

Purchased from the Westwood Krogers on Fergueson Road in Cincinnati, Ohio - Alright, this rich auburn hued brew tastes much like milk coffee with a caramel in it... I liked it, although the 330 ml bottle was a bit pricey.
