Unusual name, unusual beer! The “Waggle Dance” is the movement a bee performs to alert the hive to a source of nectar. The Waggle Dance beer is a beautifully balanced, sneakily seductive, golden coloured beer. it is popular both as a cask ale (Alc. 4.0% Vol.) and in 500ml bottle (Alc. 5.0% Vol.) across a wide range of beer lovers both male and female and of all (legal) drinking ages. A striking pump clip and bottle label designs ensure high awareness to Waggle Dance amongst drinkers in both the On- and Off-Trade “Amber beer with a touch of honey on the nose and palate. The sweetness is balanced by a healthy dose of hops to provide the bitterness that gives a wonderfully delicate flavour.” Pale Ale and Crystal malts and British Fuggle and Golding hops, together with South American honey, combine perfectly to create this delicious golden ale with a superb honey aroma.

500ml bottle from Asda. Nothing really to recommend this one, quite disinteresting throughout.

Copenhagen 25/8 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Comes in a clear bottle. Striped label with some bees buzzing around. Pours slightly hazy light amber with white head. Settles as thin layer of foam. No lacing to speak of. Aroma is sweet and you can actually smell some honey. Not very strong but it’s there. A little caramel and waffles as well. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is sweet toffee followed by light bitterness. Sweet aftertaste - not particularly long. Pretty sweet - as could be expected from a honey beer - and quite English. Not bad - but not something I’m very much into.

BBE 26.02.2017. Kuparinen väri, niukka vaahto. Tuoksu aika mitäänsanomaton, tyypillinen paskabritti. Suutuntuma laimean makea ylisokeroitu, ohut, tylppä, kohtuu heikko mutta juotava.

This is what happens when you let your missus choose your beer. Actually to be fair I was quite optimistic. This was short lived. Pouring revealed something similar to a poor euro lager. The scent and taste remind me of early non alcoholic beer from the late 80s. Apparently there’s some honey in here but the bitter after taste puts paid to that. Truly awful .

Pours a clear golden color, a bit darker shade perhaps, topped with a small and non-lasting white head. Malty aroma, mild with some honey notes way in the back. Medium bitterness in the taste with some bitter honey notes. Light body and in general average at best.

This is typical golden ale in appearance with a thin white head, continuous bubbles and splodgy lacing left on the side of the glass. The taste is mildly hoppy but what comes across most is the honey but not in an overburdening manner. The palate actually quite heavy and kind of syrupy and the sweet honey after taste is satisfying. Overall this is an excellent beer which I would buy again and recommend.

Served in a snifter from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear deep golden colour with a medium off-white head leaving moderate lacing behind. Aroma is a subtle but nice combination of honey, hops and herbs. Taste is bitter-sweet with notes of honey and a pleasant slight bitter aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Very good and refreshing honey beer without being too sweet or sickly. Do not drink it too cold though! From personal experience I can say that this one is definitely best served slightly chilled but not cold to reveal and enjoy the honey notes in both the aroma and the taste!!!
