3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Not quite a thrill a minute, but decent as German pilsnener-type lagers go. Pours a frothy head with big bubbles over a familiar German straw colord body. Low carbonation leaves a pleasing tickle. Somewhat doughy/biscuity malt action nicely counterbalanced by hops, unfortunately, its means neither is very noticeable. Goes down pretty nicely, at least. A touch of hop-bitter aftertaste remains on the tongue.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Weltenburger Kloster Barock Hell has a very thick, frothy, off-white head, a hazy, bubbly, yellow-gold appearance, and lots of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of rich, pungent barley malt, sourdough bread, yeast, and a slight cream cheese cake icing note, that one will get with Genesee Cream Ale. Taste is of sweet, bold, barley malt, a slight hop balancing bitterness, and lager yeast. Mouthfeel is medium, and Weltenburger Kloster Barock Hell finishes on the dry side, a little dirty, and highly drinkable. RJT

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 500 ml bottle. Hazy, dirty dark golden pour, wispy snow white head. Aroma has some heavy yeasty accents, some wort-like notes. Flavor is classic Helles with some nice doughy cake mix accents, some slat water taffy sweetness, a touch of vanilla. Mouthfeel has a decent crispness to it. Fairly decent.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£2.29):
This one was another really good beer from Weltenburg, definitely a brewery that seems to constantly deliver for me and this one was no exception. The beer was very smooth and really easy to drink, the palate being a particular highlight but the taste and smell were not back either. Very refreshing and with some good fruits and citrus coming through as well, this one was a great beer and one well worth picking up.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The Beer Store, Southampton PA 50cl: Pours light golden with a fizzy white head. Aroma is sugar, biscuit, and a hint of hops. Taste is pretty sweet, with some light notes of honey. Some bread. Finish is the downside for me. I did not really enjoy that part. Otherwise, an easy-drinking German lager.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
50cl bottle, Maruhn (backlog - had this a while back). Elegant and lean, perfect quaffer of an old school Helles: crisp biscuit malts laying a suave foundation for gentle noble hops, with a tinge of citrus and a very clean finish. Little sweetness, minimal graininess. Great, fresh and unpresuming sessioner.
