500ml. Pours a nice dirty gold with a good fluffy head that diminished to a light lacing floating on the surface. Pleasant aroma of citrus, banana and spicy yeast. Flavor of some clove, banana, apricot and maybe some orange? Pretty heavily carbonated. Descent heffe, but not amazing.

Bottle. BBE 05/04 Mine is not called Kloster and does not have yeast included in the ingredients, though it does have some sediment. The picture is very similar to my bottle though. Cloudy yellow. Very light and refreshing with some fresh and delicate fruit flavours. Quite pleasant. I could enjoy more of this.

Hazy golden, big fluffy white head. Citric, grainy nose. Faint clove, citrus, biscuity grainy malts, light to medium bodied, finishing with light clove accents, crisp and citric. Not a bad hefe, but nothing spectacular.

(500ml bottle, best by 1-24-06) Hazy golden body with very big off-white head. Aroma is biscuit, light lemon, light herbal. Taste is mild, biscuit, light clove, some lemon, particularly in the finish. Light-medium body with some crispness.

Before pouring in the yeast sediment the beer looks exactly like a Pilsener, than it turns into a hazy gold. Aroma was a bit strange, somewhere between banana and kerosin. The beer was actually a bit bland and the body a bit too watery. Otherwise a normal Weizen taste with a hint of grass. Not one of my favourite Weizen, though decent.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2004 (500ml bottle) Sampled at Smokeless Joes in Toronto. Pours a cloudy, gold body beneath a th, white head. Lactic nose. Doughy flavour with tones of malt and hops. Hoppy finish. Average.

50 cL bottle, wheat glass, 50 degrees F. Tall, rocky, white head lasts well and sits on a hazy peach colored body that has fizzy carbonation. Cookie malt (M); doughy yeast (L); banana, grape aromas. Moderately sweet throughout with a light acidity in the finish. Medium-light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: lacks the fullness, banana esters, color, and acidity of a good Hefe.

Weak familiar yeast, clove aroma.Medium dark blond sparkling appearance with quick head.Mildly sour at first then yields to spritzy hoppy dry mouthfeel with bread dough and clove flavors.Dry hoppy finish.

Another one of my favorite beer styles, but unfortunately this one fell short of what I would call a really good German Hefeweizen. It poured a large white creamy head that contained fine-small sized bubbles that mostly diminished. The body was clear with carbonation observed and a yellow hue. The nose consisted of banana and clove with a sweet flavor to it. The mouthfeel was smooth, but on the thin and watery side. The lacing was sparse with this beer. There was nothing outstanding about this beer as it lacks and needs character.

Banana is light on the nose and fainter in taste. Soft fields of wheat and toasty, dry bread mix well with sweet malts. Finish is toasty and dry.
