3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amber color with a tall sable light tan head. Dry malt house aromas. Nothing exciting in the nose, even a touch of fresh barnyard throws things off. Things settle down as it warms and a light floral aroma comes out. Solid light sweet malt throughout the quaff. Again nothing exiting, but nothing that throws the flavor off like the aroma. Clean and silky on the tongue. A very easy one to throw back. I think I could sit on the porch and have this all afternoon and not get tired of it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(500 ml bottle: $2.29 at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) Ahhh, what a nice nose on this beer. It’s very toasty, malty and grainy, and the lightly sweet caramel isn’t overdone, but on the down side for me, does smell a bit lagerish. The flavor follows the same direction; it’s toasty, malty, grainy, sweet and somewhat caramely, but just not as flavorful as the nose suggested to me. There’s a light bitterness toward the finish, but it’s not fully balancing, not that I expect nor want it to be. Medium bodied, perhaps just a touch tiring on the palate. Light amber in color, and would be fully clear were it not for the blizzard of fine particles suspended in the beer. Solid German lager, malty just the way I like it, but seemingly not a beer I’d choose to drink more than one of in succession.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is an awesome beer. Don’t know why it is so short in the ratings. I have sampled an array of German beers and this is very distinct. Almost Belgian in influence. Like oak casts. Must be tried to be appreciated.

Nice dark color. large head, quite a nice drink. Hoppy enough, easy to drink, could be a regular drink for me if it was available closer to home!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2014 The Lure:
A filtered bronze hue is topped by a majestic, lingering head. Fine grainy malt and its honeyed counterpart befriend mild spicy and earthy hops.
A caramel suggestion flurries through a subtle hop tingle. This citrusy and grassy hoppiness, helped by some neighbouring herbs, eases the quaffing. This is a very drinkable lager, bordering Bohemian-style, which gets better and better as the pint is downed, demanding bigger and bigger gulps.
Teasing a sunburn.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. A bronze coloured beer with a white dissapating head. The aroma is sweet and malty with some brown bread notes and a bit of grassy hop. The taste is also sweet and malty with oaty toasty notes. A bit of a fusty farty taste in the after taste even though the beer is within date.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Grainy malt aroma - lightly sweet. Amber color with minute head. Rather weak flavor - mildly sour malt intially with sweetness coming out in the middle and the merest hint of hops at the end. A good Vienna but nothing to set it apart.
