Orange/gold colour with a nice 2cm white head. Sweet malty aroma with hint of hops. Sweet malty flavour with hops, slight bitterness in the finish. Smooth, medium bodied; quite nice really.

ALLOVATE (2098) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - DEC 15, 2005
Another classic easy drinker from the Klostebrau Weltenburger. I’ve so far found their lagers to be amongst the best that Germany has to offer, and this is another on their belt. Tasted from the bottle and poured into a Weltenburger chalice. Clear, burnished copper body with a slight tinge of brown. A flurry of fine carbonation kept the dense and creamy white head in its place for the length and left a little legs. Gritty, dry and grainy nose like rye-bread and plain muesli with the slightest hint of orange peel underneath. Quite sweet, piney and very malty in the mouth; light in body and lively in carbonation. It crossed the tongue with absolute ease and finished off crisp, clean and with a little dried orange peel zest and sugary malt that lingered in the mouth briefly after the swallow. Malt driven, generously flavoured lager that, like the rest of the Weltenburger beers, went down a treat. Roll on the warmer months!!!! (50cL, 06/06/06, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

Pours medium gold with a big white head. Bready aroma with a little grassiness and floral quality. Flavor starts with moderate maltiness, hoppy in the middle, and finishes dry. Nice balance. Smooth on the palate and quite drinkable. Good example of style.

Bottle thanks to Brock Landers: Orange gold pour with a bright white head. Some grassy hops in the aroma. Very smooth. Flavor had some sweet malts and a suddle hop back ground. Mildly bitter on the finish, medium bodied.

5l mini cask, bought at the brewery. Clear deep golden colour, large and creamy head. Malty nose. Full-bodied, intensively malty with good aromatic hop flavours. Very slightly fruity. Smooth and velvety mouthfeel, a pleasure!

Light gold, tall strong fluffy head. Little caramel to the nose, more damp cardboard though. Very solid! Firm foundation yet moderately light bodied and clean on the palate. Could not stop sipping this beer. Gently sweet throughout with underlying shortbread.

Bierkrug (1919) - Idar-Oberstein (In Iraq), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 25, 2011
500 ml bottle in Germany. Pours a amber see through color, with a very short white head that does not last long. Aroma is malts, hopps and candy. Teaste is nice and crisp for a Vienna, is intense but light at the same time. The spices really come through. The Palate is nice and compliments the taste well. A very nice Vienna.

Mellonius (71) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - DEC 5, 2010
500 ml bottle poured into a tulip. This beer is being brewed locally, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, by the Petropolis group (responsible for Petra, Itaipava and other brands). Color is a beautiful coppery golden, with lively carbonation and very dense, thick head. Aroma is sweet, with some hints of spiciness. Very nice on the palate. Traces of alcohol and sweet malts, balanced by moderate hoppiness, just enough to make it work. A wonderfully sessionable beer that goes down very smoothly. I plan to buy more of it!

mattphilips (802) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 14, 2011
