Comparative tasting with Andechser Doublebock.
Appearance: Dark brown with maroony, deep-ruby higlight. Amazing tan head with beautiful lace around the glass. Awesome retention.
Aroma: Just as expected after the appearance: Mellow dark fuits like plum, raisins, Roasted dark, cereals, maybe a hint of milk chocolate or some spicy marzipan(?).
Flavor: Very pure roasted grains rules the malt profile. Dark chocolate dryness balanced with sweet, alcoholic dried-dates at the medium. Some inviting hop bite with roasted chocolaty layers at the end.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with almost creamy soft texture. Nice balance between the syrupy malts and the roasted grains. Dry, lingering roasty finish.
Overall: A very good example of the style. The darker, richer kinda Doublebock what i really prefer...

Mély vörösesbarna színe van aminek a kitöltésnél egy szép krémes világosbarna hab keletkezik ami elég gyorsan összeesik,de vékonyan befedi sörünket.Illata marcipán likőrös és aszalt szilvás.Íze édeskésen,karamellásan és aszalt fügésen kezdődik,ami átadja magát egy keserédes,gyümölcsös,borsos,fűszeres és komlós összetett íznek.Kellemesen testes,az alkoholtartalom végig érezhető de mégsem tolakodó,enyhén szénsavas.Utóízében jelen van a kis mandulás kesernyésség és finom fűszerezettség,kiszárítja a szájat és hosszan tart.Kiadós vacsorák után vagy csak a hideg téli napokra egy kiadós hólapátolás után.Nagy sör!

Bottle. Had no idea this one was so well thought off. Poured a dark auburn/brown with an average sized off white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, minerals, sweetness and earth, with a whiff of alcohol. Aroma was solid, but flavor was really nice. Roasted malt, dark fruit, licorice, nuts, fruit, caramel, earth with a nice sweet presence. Full with a long lasting finish. Clean, generous flavors. All in all, a very nice one.

(From notes, March 16, 2009). 500 mL bottle. Chestnut brown with a large, short-lived beige head. The aroma is great; slightly burnt caramel, roasted walnuts, licorice, and a little fresh bread. The flavour is much the same, although perhaps a touch sweeter than the aroma suggests. Some bitter chocolate or black coffee bitterness at the end. Very smooth and creamy. Excellent beer.

Pours dark brown with faint tan head; aroma is malty sweet and sugary with fruitness and mild chocolate notes; full-bodied, smoothly carbonated; sweet and roasted malty flavor with notes of rye pudding and chocolate; slight bitterness in the finish.

Bottle 500ml. Good doppelbock. Aromas of caramel, toffee, burnt malt, and also copper. Taste has a sweet start, with a long and bitter aftertaste. Syrupy in the palate, and full-bodied. Dark brown colour, with a frothy head.

Nice, dark pour. Vaguely nutty, slightly vinous/vegetal aroma. Flavor is rich and delicious with a velvety mouthfeel.

Pours ruby red with large brown frothy and partly creamy head with nice lacing. Aroma of raisins and dough. Flavor of raisins toffee with a bitter roastiness in finish. Medium to full body. A bit too sweet in my opinion but still a very nice beer.
