3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Complex aroma with various malts. Color is a deep dark brown with a ruby one to it. The head was small and disappeared quickly. Deep rich taste with a slight bitterness to it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
1L maß off the tap. Dark walnut color, clear-ish...its big head burns off nicely to a collar. It’s got a resinous mouthfeel, light at the beginning, and strong at the end. Nice clean taste, lots of raisin and plum. Very good doppelbock, lacks something that would make it perfect, but I can’t put my finger on it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep roasted malts with chocolate, dark fruits and caramel. There are floral bits but they are low key. Goes down easy, maybe I’ll have another.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml Bottle from Beers of Europe (Ł2.69):
Sweet & loaded with caramel malts and chocolate notes upfront. A typical bock aroma but a good one at that with some figs and prunes coming through alongside a few subtle hops.
Dark brown with a finger-sized, foamy head that is tan brown & holds well with some nice lacing too.
Sweet with strong caramel malts that mirror the nose well, along with some lighter chocolate & darker fruits that include some prunes, figs and raisins. There is also some roasted malts & the beer is quite rich with a hint of bitterness & a warming, boozy finish.
Smooth & full bodied with light carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel that goes down well. There is a lot of sweetness to this one although it manages not to overpower or completely dominate things thankfully and there is a touch of bitterness at the end.
Very filling and chocolaty beer with a fair amount of sweetness. Smooth with a good combination of roasted and sweet malts & although some was noticeable, the alcohol content was well blended with the beer & came as a welcome addition in this case.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Dark brown, small to average and mostly lasting light brown head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, light caramel and roasted malt, some dark fruits - light vinous notes and faint chocolate. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and roasted malt, light dark fruits, light chocolate. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light roasted malt and light dark fruits, light chocolate, faint alcohol. Really nice doppelbock with vinous notes - not too sweet/not too much alcohol.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 500 ml, thanks to Mctapps! Into a snifter, ABV 6.9%
Deep mahogany brown colour on the body, with almost two fingers of beige head on top, thick, with good retention. Light lacing around the glass.
Aroma of chocolate, toasted malts.
Taste is sweet with chocolate, malts, faint metallic notes that don’t become annoying, light vanilla. Mildly bitter on the aftertaste.
Medium thick body, carbonation on good levels.
Great bock, it’s beers like this one that make me prefer the german bocks over the dutch ones.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark copper colour with tan, disappearing head. Aroma of both dried and black fruits, toasted bread, chocolate and caramel. Sticky texture, full bodied. Sweet, light bitterness, medium carbonation. Probably the best bock I’ve tried so far.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dobrze ułożone i zaskakująco pijalne. Po czasie wychodzi lekki alkohol, mogłoby być lepiej pod tym względem. Niemniej jedna smaczne piwo.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The last bottle in the area, apparently. Pours very dark brown to black with almost no head, just a very thin eggshell ring and a touch of soapy lace. Nose involves prominent roasted barley, toasted notes, wintergreen, some savory meat drippings (sorry, been reading all the CIB ratings haha), some raisin and prune dried dark fruit notes, some light vinyl. Pretty sweet flavor, somewhat bitter. Medium to full bodied, quite soft carb, a bit oily, almost somewhat watery somehow, with a lengthy toasted, soy-tinged bitter finish. No idea how old this is, but I’m guessing it’s fairly old based on from where it was procured and what little knowledge I have of its distribution in the area. Regardless, a decent brew, fun to try, and fresher I would assume this would be a pretty decent example of the style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Clear chestnut brown pour, thick, but short-lived, off-white head. Aromas of malty caramel, toffee, maybe honey. All sugary stuff though. Taste brings a fruitier note. Clean finish. Pretty good.
