LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 1, 2008 Nice dunkel and much better than their hefe. Aroma was nice a roasty. Roasted/caramel malt notes. Pour was a nice medium brown with a 3 finger tan head. Decent roasted malt flavor though a little thin. Malt does not carry through to the aftertaste. Not bad. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Feb 1, 2008 Dark, copper-brown wit a nice head. The aroma has sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel and fruit. The same goes for the flavour, where I also fin hints of nuts and licorice. It’s quite a pleasant surprise. MrRain (415), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Jan 30, 2008 500ml bottle poured into a lager glass. WKBD smells like a slice of bakery Utopia. Soft brown bread, caramel and malt overwhelm a faint raisin aroma. The nose on this beer made my stomach grumble. This dunkel pours light brown without any trace of haze or pulp. the head is medium-sized, the color of linen and settles quickly. The taste! Wow! This is a huge surprise. I was not expecting to hit such a great beer with this one. Heavy rye bread and malt accompany faint chocolate hints. The light crisp body contrasts delightfully with the flavours found in typically heavier beers. This is a must-try and is easily available in the U.S. Some beers simply hit the spot and this is a classic example. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Jan 27, 2008 an overall solid dunkel with nice munich malt aroma and a fruity flavor of caramel that distinguishes this style. dark reddish hue with beige head, it’s a well balanced brew that is a pleasure to drink. ford9719 (369), Vilseck, Germany Jan 25, 2008 Bottle. Flavor strong, dry, constant malty. Very drinkable and good beer. Finn (1422), Tromsø, Norway Jan 16, 2008 On tap in the Klosterschenke 21 Jun 07. Dark golden colored. A small white head. Weak aroma. A cautious fruity flavor with faint fruity aftertaste. Sweet fruity impression.
