Bottle at home. Pour is deep brown, with a crimson tint, and small brown head; great lacing. Husky, raw straw, a touch of toffee, roast, wet dog, and metal in the aroma. Taste is raw grass, corn, rusted metal, grain, toasted malt, a touch of cocoa, and wood with a light metallic finish. Medium mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very much a lager and not really my thing, but i appreciate the craft.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served in a glass mug at the Kloster where it is made. Pours clear dark reddish brown with a tan head. The head has very good retention and leaves plenty of sticky lacing. Aroma: fine roasted malts with an overtone of hops. Quite malty flavor; sweet and bitter in balance. Light herbal hops.
Medium-light carbonation seems about perfect. Medium body.
O: A flawless albeit straightforward Bavarian dunkel. Make the pilgrimage.
