Bottle. Brown colour. Slightly off-white head. Almost no carbonation. Malty aroma but a bit to bitter. On the overall not strong enough, too mild. My least favourite beer from this brewery.

Badgerben’s Cellar Reduction night. Brown color with dark fruits and burnt malt on the nose. Spicy yeast in the body. Very nice.

23 oz. bomber. Pours a brown with a heavy dose of amber hues. Nice off-white head that diminishes pretty quickly. Nose is roasted carmel and a touch of nutty almond-like aroma. Tastes of roasted malt and heavy, sweet carmel. A hint of hops at the end, but this dunk is sweet. This is a very good dunkel. One of the better ones I’ve had. Very drinkable.

50cl bottle at Kalmar Nation. Dark brown with a red tint and a creamy tan head. Sweet malty aroma. Flavor leans heavily on malty sweetness, with low bitterness and hops. Rather simple flavors overall, and a clean body that is very full for the strength, with nice medium carbonation. Very similar in taste profile to the Asam Bock, but on a less intense, more sessionable level. I was missing some of the woodier and toastier flavors that I like in a dunkel, but a good beer regardless.

Shared by Badgerben. This is one of the best dunkels I have had. The aroma and flavor is very full with roasted malt and caramel, almost like a full bodied bock. Heavy palate.

Sampled at Badgerben’s Cellar Reduction Night. Pours a reddish amber brew with a thick tan head that has good retention and lacing. Aroma of dark roasted caramel malt, some chocolate, toffee and smoked peat. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel, chocolate and a touch of toffee. Finish is smooth, slightly sweet with a slight toffee/malt aftertaste.

On draught at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. Ruby brown colour, with good head. Caramelly and chocolatey in flavour with bit of Vienna-Style maltiness. Very smooth mouthfeel like all beers from this brewery. Low sweetness for a dunkel.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2009 Deep brown colored, poured from a 16.9 oz bottle. Smooth and mild, with an understated but complex malt character. Not an overly sweet dunkel, more of a deep rich malt feast. Very pleasant beer, would love to have it on draft.

Pours an extremely dark ruby with a tan head that rises and does not stick around long but leaves a thick lacing on the way down. Nose is almost like old wood. Like a cleaned out old attic. Dusty and void of life. A mild bit of malt character there, but not a whole lot. Flavor is smooth and even. Nothing real crazy going on here. Thin malt influence. Has the body, but not a lot of character to follow. Feel is standard. A bit thin really. Drinkable, sure. It is a decent brew. Nice to try. But no home run to run back to.
