3.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rondphoto (981) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUL 27, 2012Thank you Julia Dubowy for another fine gift from your latest trip to Germany. Clear dark ruby amber with a foamy head and big streaks of lace. Taste begins with a slightly bitter caramel malt that grows, adding dark fruit and toast along with a bit of molasses. Light bittering at the finish keeps everything nicely balanced. Easy to drink, highly sessionable. Recommended.

Rich and malty taste and a dark color. I think it's a bit to heavy to drink more than a few of it but definitely a really good one.

500ml bottle from Yorma’s in the Munich train station. Pours a clear, deep brown colored body with a slight reddish hue. Two finger-width, creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is rich caramels and toffees with a nice raisin bread and dark fruitiness, a touch of roast, nuts, and a hint of cocoa. Flavor is similar. RIch caramels with a really nice raisin bread sweetness, a slightly deep toffee, nuts, dark fruits, and another hint of cocoa. Finishes dry, but very clean and lightly roasted with a nice malt sweetness. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, an excellent dunkel. Rich, smooth, and malty with a nice dark fruit element and touch of roast. Great beer.
