Draft. Pours golden yellow with light white head that laces nicely. Very little visible carbonation. Nice German pils flavor typical of the style. Very drinkable and refreshing.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ home picked up @ Wilbur’s Fort Collins. I’ve never seen Weltenburger in Fort Collins but the bottles that have shown up in Denver were less than satisfactory. I think I’ve had this one time and that was at Kelheim. Pours a fairly clear golden appearance with a touch of haze and a nice white head. Big herbal pils, cracker malty, fairly dry, lightly mineralic aroma. A touch sweet but fairly dry, pils malty, straw, moderately herbal hoppy flavor. Easy drinking and one of the freshest German Pils I’ve had in Colorado in quite a while. May have to pick up a couple of more.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fuzzy golden color. White he’d holds a thick film forever just like the anno 1050. Dense white lacing. Earthy, mineral aroma. Flavor is a bit sweet and grassy. Bordering on a good pilsner but more like a well made premium lager.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle from the brewery. Pours a crystal clear, straw colored body with a two finger-width, foamy and frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grassy and slightly fruity with a nice, lightly sweetened pils malt backing. Flavor is similar. Grassy throughout with a light pils malt sweetness and a few fruit notes. Finishes moderately bitter and dry with a nice grassy note. Lengthy aftertaste following a light body and a moderately active carbonation. Overall, a really solid pils. Bitter, balanced, and very enjoyable. Good one.

On draught at City Beer in San Francisco. Fizzy, golden and with a head that doesn’t hang around. Pretty smooth for a pils. Doesn’t smell of much. A pils that doesn’t taste that much of pils - to its credit!
