2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
330ml bottle (BeerAngel.de)
Pale gold, small head. Light fruity citrussy aroma. Crisp carbonation, refreshing palate, short of watery. Taste a touch papery, not as sweet or fruity as the aroma would imply. Fairly drinkable though.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
30ml bottle. Very pale straw colour with a deep snow like white head that crackles and settles. Looks a little thin in the glass with grain aromas that don’t leave you anticipating a great flavour.. Full mouthfeel with a long dry aftertaste and almost creaminess in the mouth. Stronger bodied than it appears.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
On tap. Yellow-golden body, with a rich white head that slowly diminishes, leaving a fair lace. Nice grassy, floral aroma at the start, but as the beer gets warmer, notes of skunk begin to appear. Light bitter taste, with notes of grass, but very watery. Very watery texture, soft to medium carbonation, thin body. For me, not the best example of a german pils, had much better ones.

from beerangel - pale and clear golden colour with a little white foam; nice lace; light grassy aroma with notes of paperboard; soft and medium malt backbone, no bitterness and with more notes of paperboard in the finish - poorly executed

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Slightly hazy light lemon yellow in appearance with a large rocky head. Crisp citrus hop aroma. First sip is mildly pleasant but after that it taste of cardboard. A waxy bitter aftertaste. Bleech.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2008 Aroma hops and light malt, boring. Good sized, long lasting, white creamy head. Clear straw-yellow and amber hue. Good palate; soft, slightly oily, low carbonation, with long lasting bitter finish. But neutral and bland initial flavour blending to a strong bitter hop finish. Boring and simple, lacks flavour. Perhaps I’m just not a pilsner fan. Not worth paying premium for this import.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
My label says Weltenburger Kloster Pils brewed by Eltenburg Gmbh Kelheim/Germany. Green 12 oz bottle. Pop the lid and there is a typical green bottle aroma of cabbage or veggies. Aroma carries over to the taste and then there is some needling pilner bite there too. Finish is lingering and quite offensive for a pilsner. A little too much for my lager loving taste buds.
