Veyr nice in flavor, I found it very wheaty, but it was very good in taste.

23-May-06 (500 ml bottle: $2.90 at Liquid Solutions in Tigard, OR) If you can believe this, the date on the label is 12-Feb-01. Such is the chance you take when you order beer online without being able to see the actual bottle. But from Liquid Solutions? Anyway, you know, much to my surprise, this beer is quite enjoyable. True, it tastes a bit oxidized, but there’s no cardboard and no earth to be found, and the overall flavor is fairly caramely, moderately sweet and very lightly bitter, kind of reminiscent of a märzen. The toasty, sweet and caramely nose is even better than the flavor. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Amber in color and fairly clear. Average, off-white head gradually fades to a wide ring, and leaves a patchwork of spiderweb lacing. Who knows, maybe that date doesn’t mean what I think it means because this has been a very pleasant and malty beer, right up my alley.

01-Oct-05 (500 ml bottle: $2.29 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) The label reads Best Before February, 2007, but I’m not so sure because this is tasting a little cardboardy right from the first sip. Moderately sweet and caramely, malty, and a bit earthy (not a good sign), and yes there’s that cardboard in the finish. The aroma is somewhat malty, but also a moderately earthy, so even though I’m 16 months within the window, this beer definitely seems a bit old. Medium bodied. Dark amber color, slightly hazy, and topped by a light-tan head that shows good retention by holding a thin, but complete layer. Lacing is modest, but small patches do remain on the glass. Yeah, this is really tasting like it aged too quickly, so I’ll want to do a rerate if I can find it again. (6, 3, 5, 3, 10 = 2.7)

Nice pour, a bright copper/orange with a creamy, light beige head. The aroma is a sweet bready malt with some caramel highlights and a faint herbal hopping. The caramel dominates the flavor along with a light almond bitterness. Sweet yet dry finish. A very sessionable Vienna.

Poured a wonderful amber color (crystal clear) with a hugh frothy beige head that left nice lacing around the glass. Aroma was malty and yeasty (bread like) with a hint of hops. A good light-medium bodied drinking beer with lots of carbonation. Flavor was sweet malts with a bready undertone. Just a slight hop bite in the finish.

From a 500ml. euro brown bottle with a bottles date on the back label. Made a very good appearance, poured a clear oranged hued copper with a large foamy, bubbly white head that leaves a decent amount of ringed lacing. Had a big, sweet, honey, caramel bready aroma, a subtle nuttiness and a floral hoppiness in the background. Good carbonation and a slick, smooth, textured flavored medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Delicious tasting, sweet breadiness covered in honey, a toasted graininess, caramel maltiness, a gentle rolling hop bitterness and a dry, crisp, sharp, sweet malty finish.

Really high carbonation, apple/fruit aromas, golden-copper coloration, minimal fizzy head. Grain, apple, hops are dominant flavors. Sweet yet not syrupy.
