Some clove and alcohol aroma, pale yellow color. Malty flavor with medium hops, and slight clove taste. Very carbonated.

Malty, sweet, banana, clove aroma. The flavor mimicked the aroma, but had slightly more alcohol in it. Bubbly feel, with a medium head. Pretty orange color.

Beautiful clear dark golden color. Fine tasting marzen, on the lighter side of the style. Karl Strauss in San Diego made a similar beer, though it's an ale, for this year's Christmas Ale(2003). Nice sweet malty flavor with an interesting buttery or butterscotch flavor that I liked.

Bottle. Amber bodied with a small whitish head. Nose is malty and sweet with caramel notes, dried fruits, light nuttiness and a bit of grass. Taste is just as malty and sweet with a nice caramel flavor lingering throughout. Mild grassiness and more dried fruit notes. Hint of nuttiness comes through here as well. Almost has a flavor like a beer mixed with a trail mix. Body is medium with lots of carbonation feel. Finish is more malts and caramel, light grass and fruit. Nothing too original or outstanding but very drinkable quenching.

An incredibly smooth. Has an incredibly smooth flavor. Actually quite a tasty beer. Has sort of a sweet creamy texture and flavor.

Nice pour, a bright copper/orange with a creamy, light beige head. The aroma is a sweet bready malt with some caramel highlights and a faint herbal hopping. The caramel dominates the flavor along with a light almond bitterness. Sweet yet dry finish. A very sessionable Vienna.

Clear cobber colored body, big off-white head; Huge full super malty nose, a bit to the sweeter side very, very pleasant with some orange peel aromas; The body is a bit thin, but the very soft full carbonation gives a very nice impression; It finishes long with a thin texture and lots of full malty aromas. Another super well made German beer.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 This beer was far more of a bock than a Vienna to me. Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bronze color with a small yellow-tan head. The aroma was sweet, malty, tangy and lightly vegetal. The flavor was sweet, rich, tangy with a vegetal element and light molasses and fruity hops.

Rated 2/6/07: I, like some of the others here got excited about finding this bottle being labeled as a "winter" brew, and then experienced sadness when I found out it was only a Vienna Lager......but after drinking this I am a happy man. Maybe the mood was just right but this one really hit the mark tonight. Nothing unrealistic in relation to the style just a pleasant example. Sweet aroma, very bready/biscuity with a hint of stinging sour fruit. Beautiful light amber pour with a frothy head and a nice ring of lacing at the top. Sharp mouthfeel, clean and simple. Nice toasted flavor mixed in with an ample helping of sweet malt. Lightly hopped supplying a quick burst of bitterness. Doesn’t excel in any category but overall I give it a deserving 8 for sheer enjoyment.
