Beautiful clear dark golden color. Fine tasting marzen, on the lighter side of the style. Karl Strauss in San Diego made a similar beer, though it's an ale, for this year's Christmas Ale(2003). Nice sweet malty flavor with an interesting buttery or butterscotch flavor that I liked.

Clear amber color/ beige head. Fruit berry sweet, yeasty metallic, brown sugar aromas. light body. Flavors of malty pumpernickel toast, with a brown sugar coated salmonberry earthy sweetness. not bad.

Bottle. Butterscotch malt and tin aroma. Amber color with giant head. Mildly sweet buttterscotch malt and moderate bitter grass hops flavor. Medium body. Not bad - easy drinking.

Good sessionable German beer. Winter-Traum pours a slightly darker shade than the Anno 1050, so about the color of a new penny, clear and with a big white head. It’s also less sweet and spicier than that beer. There’s a big lemon note and some darker specialty malts present in small amounts. There are a lot of malt notes bouncing around.

Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of MoritzF. It pours a beautiful clear pale amber/ deep golden beer with nicely remaining lacing tall head. Caramel, pumpernickel and marmite showing up in both nose and taste. Smooth and balanced. Very drinkable. Decent bitterness. Nutty finish. Rather pleasant. Thanks a lot MoritzF!

Bottle. Pours a clear glowing but darker orange with a foamy white head. Aroma is quite malty, subtly sweet malt flour, bready, doughy, light caramel, very smooth with a bit of fruity spiciness. Flavor follows but is more caramelly, lightly spiced, bit of grassy hay, munich malts, rich aftertaste. Medium/light bodied smooth and very crisp, extremely drinkable and sessionable. Another amazingly smooth beer from Weltenburger.

500 ML Bottle in Germany. Deep Amber color, with a full orange off white head. Wonderful complex aroma, with earthy grass and hints of spicy herbs. Taste is very well done and perfect for winter foods in Germany. Nice mix of hops and sweet flavors. Palate is full but not overpowering. A really good beer. A great Vienna by any standard!

Bottle. Had this one on a recent trip to Chicago. Wasn’t a great beer but was good. Started off with a nice hop-malt balance but finished just a tad too bitter. For some reason it said "malt liqour" on the label. Anyway, recommended to try at least once.
