Cask at The White Horse, Maplehurst, 12th April 2008. Cloudy orange amber with a line of head. Poor aroma - clay, plasticine and dust. Light malt flavour and some bitter balance. Not great but light and reasonably quaffable. Ok if you are driving but otherwise avoid.

Bottle at Hoopers. Shared with Carlus12. Skunky, malty, honey and cream aromas. Pours an amber beer with small white head. Sweet and hoppy/bitter. Light/soft body, some metal, some citrus, bread. All in all the taste doesn’t quite square with the floral bouquet of the aroma. But for the strenght of this beer alone - remarkable!

Cask gravity at Kingston BF 2007. Another one of the Roger Protz’s beers to try before you die. Copper colour with thin bubbly beige head. Bit undeveloped, raw malt/yeast on aroma. Some fruit. Fine in mouth. Fairly typical UK bitter. Some hop floral on end. Decent bitterness. Almost a bit of chlorine to the hoppiness. Far more bitter than I would expect.

Gravity @ 32nd Cambridge Beer Festival, UK. 28th May 2005
Amber. Thin. Reasonably hoppy. Lawn mowing ale, perhaps. Fresh and easily downed in two.
