COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular; and Bottle Conditioned.
Hand crafted by our award winning brewer in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, Lidstone’s Rowley Mild (GBBF Champion Mild of Great Britain 2003) is a truly distinctive beer with chocolate and toffee aromas leading into what, for its strength, is an impressively rich and flavoursome taste; the finish is pleasantly bitter-sweet.
Brewed with the finest floor malted Maris Otter Barley, Malted Oats and Roast Barley, Munich, Chocolate, Crystal and Carapils Malts with leaf hops and Wensleydale Brewery’s own yeast strain.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It pours a dark brown body, clear, and topped by a small, beige head. Toffee, chocolate and burnt malts on the nose, some fruity hops too. It’s thin on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. The flavor has a faint licorice touch in the far back, else it’s toffee, coffee and chocolate. A pleasant one indeed, a beer one could easily down a few of, or drink all day. 110319

Bottle from BeersOfEurope. Lively natural carbonation - quite gassy, needs time to settle down. Pleasantly roasty notes with a touch of chocolate. Easy drinking and with a pleasant soft flavour. Nice.

Cask at the 2010 Battersea Beer Festival. Sweetish milk chocolate nose with toffee and vanilla notes, it is tawny-black and full bodied with roasty mocha notes and a surprisingly bitter bite for a mild, plus a roast-bitter finish. A very nice - though bitter - mild.
