3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Handpull cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Light to mid-gold. Clear with little visible carbonation or head. Malty smell with some floral notes. The taste is a straightforward and refreshing bittersweet with a slight sulphurous tinge. Aftertaste is slightly too bitter for the balance. A decent enough recipe if not particularly imaginative.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at The Market Tavern, Durham, £3.70/pint.
Pale golden amber beer with a smooth, white head. Both the nose and the flavour are driven by grainy, cereal character, while the taste has a decent bitter bite that remains in a longish finish. Not bad.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask conditioned handpump Royal Blenheim Oxford 29/06/13. A golden to bronze coloured beer with a white head and lace. Quite hoppy but the malts are oversweet. Strawberry flavours. Nose is predominantly sweet malts. The malts give body but not the right flavours for me.
