Cask conditioned handpump Royal Blenheim Oxford 29/06/13. A golden to bronze coloured beer with a white head and lace. Quite hoppy but the malts are oversweet. Strawberry flavours. Nose is predominantly sweet malts. The malts give body but not the right flavours for me.

Bottle for £1. Gold body, no head. Hops and fruit, oranges and lemon juice. Bitter. Dry finish. Aroma was just a bit muted. Otherwise a good beer.

Overwhelming aroma of sourdough, the sourness of which battles out with hoppy bitterness on the tongue.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear medium yellow colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, grass, citrus, hop flower notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, pale tobacco. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111209]

Handpull, The Flying Standard (JDW), Coventry, 22/02/12. Dark bronze skimmed with white. Decent grassy nose with some shrub and privet. Honey and sap flavour; digestives, an unwelcome dirty copper back note spoiling things. Flat and alcoholic with a cherry stone, park bench lager note. Iím sure itíll keep the regulars happy. Crushing comedown after Whitefriars. Onwards..

500 ml bottle, cellar cool. Gold with a white head. Straw and citrus aroma, which predominates in the flavour, but with a pleasantly biscuity (Rich Tea?) undertone. Refreshing and enjoyable. One Iíd like to try on draught.

Bit dull, from the bottle to a plastic glass. Some hop resin but little aroma and quite a bland taste considering.

A Mes rate: cask at the Market (no) Porter.
Straight forward clean gold with no head. Reasonable bright hoppage on the nose. Straight forward blend of grassy hops and pale malt in the mouth. Nice and dry, very drinkable. Very dull.
