Handpull cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Light to mid-gold. Clear with little visible carbonation or head. Malty smell with some floral notes. The taste is a straightforward and refreshing bittersweet with a slight sulphurous tinge. Aftertaste is slightly too bitter for the balance. A decent enough recipe if not particularly imaginative.

Cask at The Market Tavern, Durham, £3.70/pint. Pale golden amber beer with a smooth, white head. Both the nose and the flavour are driven by grainy, cereal character, while the taste has a decent bitter bite that remains in a longish finish. Not bad.

Cask at The Victoria Inn, Rugby, 15/08/14. Lightly hazed golden orange with a moderate white cap that retains. Nose is bready, pale malt, muted fruit, pretty thin. Taste comprises light orange, citric peel, straw, pale malt, splodge of custard. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Mediocre GB - lacks!

Bottle. Orange clear appearance and pored with a small head. Quite fruity with some maltiness. Sharp distinctive taste. Bit of a cheap and cheerful but far better than I had expected.

Cask conditioned handpump Royal Blenheim Oxford 29/06/13. A golden to bronze coloured beer with a white head and lace. Quite hoppy but the malts are oversweet. Strawberry flavours. Nose is predominantly sweet malts. The malts give body but not the right flavours for me.
