Black with a tan, bubbly head. Sooty, roasted coffee flavour but also slight sourish(the oat?) in the background(my sample was fresh). Short finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark beer, dark frothy head, very, very dry burn't aroma. A very dry flavour with hints of oatmeal. Overall too dry a beer, not as good as the majority of sweet stouts.

(Cask conditioned). Sampled at the Wear Valley CAMRA beer festival. (Room temperature). Pitch black. Low (natural) carbonation. Lovely aroma, smooth roast malt and coffee flavour, with some acid notes that I'm not entirely happy about.
