Clear deep ruby color, small steady off-white head. Dark toffee caramel in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Toasted maltyness, quite harsh and bitter finish and aftertaste. Hints of black coffee. Barley maltyness dominates. Not the most typical German dunkel.

Great one. Deep and ful body with a lot of malt drinkability. Special surprise as I expected a heavy one. But that here comes easy with huge aromas. Top.

Bottle. Very nice dark Landbier, easy and nice to drink and really quaffable. The colour is a medium dark brown with a steady ehad and medium body. Nose of malt. Taste of nuts, malt, dark bread, rice, brown sugar, leaves and dark burnt caramel. Nice one, really, but just not that perfect and pure.

Sieht farblich ansprechend aus: dunkelbraun mit rötlichem Schimmer. Hat dafür sehr wenig Schaum, der sich auch äußerst schnell verflüchtigt - nicht so prickelnd.
Im Geruch wenig ausgeprägt, allenfalls etwas Malzigkeit. Der Antrunk ist dann besser als erwartet, denn das Malz kommt etwas - aber nur etwas - röstmalzig daher - könnte durchaus mehr in diese Richtung gehen. So ist es eher malzbetont ohne Hopfenbittere und auch etwas wäßrig. Läßt sich gut trinken, aber der eigene Charakter fehlt. Die Bügelflasche selbst hat ein gruselig-kitschiges Etikett, dass nur Hardcore-Bayern ansprechen dürfte.
Fazit: Besserer Durchschnitt, ohne wirklich zu überzeugen. Für einen Abend aber durchaus ein angenehmer Begleiter.

Pours copper colored with high, fine, off-white head. Smell has lots of caramel malts and some sugar. Starts with lots of bitter malts and some bitter hops, paired with some sweet caramel. Middle user is very bitter and malty-roasty. Goes into a bitter malty finish with some metallic hops and a slight caramel flavor.

500ml bottle. Aroma is malt and light caramel. Appearance is dark brown with a nice foam. Taste is light malty sweet and some oat flavor. Feels almost like a Stout. Overall a good beer.

50 cl bottle. Pours clear and cola brown with a shortlived head. Aroma is roasted dark malty to breadish. Solid breadish, light sweetness and subdued bitterness. Roasted and light bitter finish.

A little sweet for a dunkel Landbier, bordering on porter territory, but still has some of the sharp bitterness expected from a dunkel. Pours nice into a German mug/stein, a nice toasty nose, but the sweetness can be off-putting...
