Nice murky Amber color. Malty bready aroma and taste. Quite nice and different than most Germans, a nice gift from a German friend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Head recedes quite quickly but the beer is a beautiful brownish gold. Very creamy in taste. Goes down smooth.

Hazy golden color with an average white fluffy head. Aroma is bready malts, yeast and lightly herbal notes. Flavor is like aroma but more sweet. Medium carbonation and body with a dry and lightly bitterness finish.

50cl bottle [thanks to my good friend Niels] @ home shared with Illuvatarmilan. Unclear orange color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, herbal, leaves, a hint of tea, slightly a touch of fruit in the background, slightly bitter. Average to medium body and carbonation. Decent.

This is a ’Kellerbier’, and they all are pretty much the same, not too hoppy, not too malty, unfiltered, with a sort ’rounded’ mouthfeel, maybe a little ’chewy’, even, with a good deal of yeast coming through. The kind of beer they call ’liquid bread’ in German. (There’s a well-known German drinking song saying ’Liquid bread I will always honor, liquid bread, I cannot do without, oh cool beer, oh noble barley drink!’ And so on). Not to be drunk too cold, maybe at a good 45°F /7°C or so, cellar temperature, I imagine. This one isn’t too bad, though I find the palate a little flat, pretty typical for this type of beer from Frankenland. The label is of the well-known rather amateurish German fashion, with several conflicting fonts, two coats of arms, no less than seven stars and a picture of what I suppose is some inn typical for the region, maybe even the Wernecker brewery. The designer probably had a good sampling of the product before coming up with this. Sort of cute, though.

Bottle 50 cl, BBE 2/2014. Pours amber in color with an off-white head. Light bready maltynes, cellar and semi-wet forrest notes in aroma. Smooth mouthfeel. Sweet and bitterish forrest berries in taste. Light grassyness, some sweetish butterscotch in aftertaste.
