CanIHave4Beers (831), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Oct 23, 2009 Round here we just call it Aldi Beer. Pours very pale with a big head and plenty of tiny bubbles. The aroma has some nice noble hops and a good white breadiness. The flavor has some crisp noble hop character with a nice maltiness including but not limited to notes of honey and a light sweet graininess. Tasty Allen (1282), Switzerland Oct 23, 2009 Bottled 50cl. Bought in hako Getränke, Winterthur. It pours a clear pale golden beer with a decent, nicely lacing white head. Strong aroma of chestnut, sugar puffs, hay and hops. Good bitterness in the taste. Grainy. Chestnut showing up again. Some pumpkin sneaking in. Medium bodied. Dry finish which is reminiscent of grain and lemon. Very nice. NobleSquirrel (1094), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a quite pale gold with a frothy head. Nose is pleasant with wet grain, continental hops and a touch of grass. On taste, it is far better than expected. I guessed the style right, as I find CGPs to be quite bitter and finish dry. This was no exception. Actually a very good rendition. Nice. Snot19kilo (81), Oakwood, Illinois, USA Oct 10, 2009 This must be Germany’s PBR. Pours like Champagne. Gold with a white bubbly head. Aroma is strong bitter hops, grass and citrus. Flavor was the same. A pretty bitter beer. A boring beer. But worth the $6 a six pack. mcdav2154 (289), Germany Oct 10, 2009 Light yellow body with a medium white head. Spot lacing. Smell is of grass, hops, and malt. Taste was clean and crisp. Medium hop bite at the end. A little too sweet for me but it was drinkable. ggaughan (94), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Luxembourg Oct 4, 2009 Beer poured a clear straw, yellow color with a nice 1/2 head and strong bubbly character. Nose is grassy, citrus and shows a touch of yeast. Taste is crisp, slight hop kick on the tongue. Citrus and caramel. fidelis83 (707), Clinton, Iowa, USA Oct 2, 2009 Pours clear pale yellow with a foamy 2 finger, eggshell head that has decent retention, eventually fades to a thick skim and holds pretty well there leaving some sparse lacing as I drink. Aroma is dry grass, sweet hay, lots of mild cereal grain notes and a touch of lightly toasted bread. Flavor is lots of dried grain and mineralmineral water up front, sweet hay, grass, a hint of pine, a hint of cooked peppers and corn (notreally enough to wreck the flavor, but it’s there), light bready notes, and a little cooked dandelion greens, leading to a lightly bitter, toasty and somewhat malty sweet finish and a crisp mineral, light grain fade. Palate is light bodied, just on the dry side of neutral throughout and has a moderate, not too sharp carbonation. Pretty decent for a lighter pils, not the most flavorful, and there are some light vegetal notes, but it’s well balanced and refreshing, overall a worthwhile brew. At $5.99/6pk in my local discount grocer it’s a steal and oddly enough I rarely get a skunked bottle. blankboy (3156), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 22, 2009 Can [500ml].Pours a clear, very pale gold with an average size fizzy white head. Mild aroma of light grassy hops, some corn, maybe some honey and a hint of vegetables -- not much there. Flavour: Quite watery and not very flavourful. Very light grassy hops along with some grain and corn and a light bitter finish -- clean but dull. Light bodied. It’s O.K., it’s harmless but boring.
