Bottled. Pale golden colour, minor white creamy head. Vegetables, hay and hops in aroma. Sweetish malty flavour with hoppy ending. Wellbalanced.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2005 Canned sample. Light gold in colour with lots of carbonation. Fairly rich malty aroma from this one with some grassy hop notes. Very crisp mouthfeel, with flavor notes of light malt, clean grassy hops, and a very slight touch of citrus. Very satisfying indeed. A good example of the classic German pilsner style.

500 ml can, brilliant bright yellow gold hue, with a nice frothy white head, pale malt, straw accent, floral hop aroma folows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp pale malt, citrusy note from the hops, leading to a dry bitter hops finish.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2005 500 ml can. Clear golden pour with a thin delicate and bubbly white head. Mild vegetables aroma but I guess it comes form the pilsner malts, there is some fresh noble hops in the aroma too. The flavor is very fresh, crisp and clean, the noble hops assert themselves nicely while leaving some space to the malt and citrus. The finish is moderately bitter. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and mild carbonation. A pilsener can be very enjoyable when it is fresh and crisp like this one.

Golden amber color. Malty grassy aroma witha somewhat bitter carbonation flavor. Slightly skunky and tasted like soda water and beer together. But mine was bought in China, so who knows.

500mL can. For scientific purposes, I had to try on parallel with my reference for the style: bitburger also in a can. Extremely clear medium straw. Mostly irregular white head is rather persistent, but not as much as bitburger. Higher than I’d like cabbagey DMS is obvious in the nose, but the noble floral hops come up crisp and soft. Very light overall, rather fair bitterness, grassy on the edges. So, it is less assertive than a bitburger, more watery and DMS-heavy, but it remains what I consider a fair example of the style, light, crisp, floral and with a balance leaning far more toward hops than malts.

Ah, Germany. Massive bubbly foam settling into a corn starchy clear yellow liquid. Crisp and clean with a cooked corn finish and a moderately bitter finish. Right down the middle German beer.

Pale gold coloured, effervescent, huge white rocky head going nowhere. Aroma is hops, straw and some background malts. Watery mouthfeel is a bit of a let down, didn’t taste of much on the first pass, some light bitterness in the finish. Taste is not improving, not bad, just bland.

[bottle from aldi] pours a pale yellow colour. Nose is sharp and hoppy with some grassy notes. body is spritzy, with a dry and bitter hopped finish.

12-oz bottle 6-months old. Very pale straw color and pours a lasting white head. Sulfury aroma and very light body. Amild, crisp hoppy flavor up front but fades. Well carbonated, with a bitterness that lingers slightly. Easy-drinking but not outstanding.
