Bottle. Poured a pale yellow color with a two finger white head that went quick. Aroma was earthy, malts, and some citrus. Flavor was weak malts. Some hops in the aftertaste. Very thin body. Not a very good beer.

Bottle 33cl. @ home.
Clear medium yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, straw, toasted, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090110]

Bottle purchased at an Aldi Grocery store. The body was pale gold with a foamy white head that dies down quickly. The aroma was very light with some fresh baked bread and a little bit of boiled potatoes. The taste is fairly spicy with black pepper and some raw potatoes. There is also a little bit of grassy hops. Overall, a decent if a little light pils.

bottle. Clear yellow colour, large white head. Hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, hoppy with very very shy malt flavours in the far background. A hoppy Pils with a dry mouthfeel.

12 oz. bottle, purchased at my local Aldi. Clear, light golden with a medium-sized bright white head that is slowly, but mostly diminishing. Lacing actually quite nice. Clean hay/straw aroma with a touch of rye and clover, manly straight-forward and rather light. Very clean flavor, loads of sweet straw and grains and earthy hops, Finish is mildly bitter, mildly sweet. Nice to have a non-skunked pils for a change.

Considering that you can get this at Aldi, and it comes in a brown bottle so it’s not skunked, this is a decent example of the German Pils style.

This beer has a golden pale color with big sparkling white creamy head, which mostly diminishing, and fair-lacing. The hoppyness dominates in the aroma with some fruitiness (maybe grapefruit). A pure bitter, refreshing flavour (very pure water used), with a bit dry, long annex taste-free aftertaste. Medium body, dry texture, chalky bitterness and a gently hidden soft carbonation. It’s like earth and worthy of the name PILS LEGENDE.
