Pours clear gold with thin white head. Scent is slight skunk, grain. Taste is a little lemon, cereal. Not too bad for a bargain level pilsner....obtained at an Aldis store of all places.

June 2009: Brown 330cl bottle, this is a cheap supermarket beer in the UK. Good for what it is, a mid-range coloured pilsner, not sweet or too dry, just a non-smelling, average tasting pils. No great depth or flavours, just a bog standard lager/pils. Good for a Bar-B-Que when loads of half-friends are coming (you know, the wifes relatives and that sort).

.5l can from Budapest supermarket. Pours lacy yellow with mild white honey nose. Easy drinker, not much carbonation or balance to the light sweetness, Flat, easy-drinking sour fruity lager

This German pils pours a normal yellow-gold colour with a small head and some lace. A coating is formed about 5mm and stays as the brew is dranked. The help comes from the active carbonation. The scent is of grainy malt. The taste reveils some sweet malt at first, and then some bitterness hops in (no pun intented). The slight skunk aroma I had at the beginning is gone after a minute or two of breathing. A pretty descent pils overall. Notes: Had one today from their cans at the LCBO, and still quite refreshing and no skunk.

Pours pale yellow clear body with white medium head. Aromas dough , malts, grains. Palate thin with medium weak carbonation and watery mouth feel. Aftertaste sweet malts and medium short dry finish and some fruity notes. Overall mild, with little dry edge in the finish. Nothing special, rather on too sweet side.

My favourite pilsener. The aroma has a light lemon taste, refreshing, a modern style pilsener.

Pours a very clear yellow color with a carbonated white head. Nose is mostly grain with a little cereal. Watery texture, with a bit of bitter taste. Not that bad but pretty commercial

It poured a golden pale color with a white head. The aroma was of fruit and some metallic with a little grain. The flavor was fruit, malt, grain and metallic. Sold by Aldi’s.
