Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
Dry and pale, almost lagerish, with dwarf English hops First Gold. A real ale that still tastes good when chilled.

Gravity at Reading Beer Festival 2 May 08. Bright golden colored. No head. Modest fruity aroma. Some hints of fruit in the flavor but quite anonymous. Dry aftertaste.

Lacing-head over a bit clouded, golden body. Malt-fruity aroma. Rather tangy hops up front with hints of grapefruits and peaches. Soft bitter ending (gravicask sampled with Finn at Reading Beer Festival, 02.05.2008).

Cask at Farnham Beerex 2008. Poured a pale amber colour with a small thin white head which soon disappeared. The beer is malty with a light fruit aroma with a bitter dry, fruity, hoppy taste, with a dry finish.

Cask, Royal Oak, Wantage. Copper, off-white head. Candied orange aroma, a bit of spice. Light citrus bitterness, a fresh light malt background. Some earthy plum notes in the finish. A fine refreshing ale.

Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading. Amber with a trace of a cream head, leaving plenty of lacing; citrus aroma; fruity in the mouth with lots of orange, and an almost marmalade-like sweetness; however there is a firm lasting bitter finish which cuts through this. An excellent example of a golden ale.
