Ungstrup (11161), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 6, 2006 [Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet combined with a weird acidity, and some kind of herbal note. The flavor is sweet with light diacethyl notes, combined with stronger notes of fruits, like peaches, oranges, and guave, leading to a weird flowery hoppy end. I’m disappointed in this beer compared to the rest of the West Berkshire line-up that I’ve tried. sk8viking (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 20, 2006 CASK. at Charlie´s bar. Pale amber colour with a small white head. Malty, light fruity, hoppy aroma and a bitter dry, fruity, hoppy taste. Medium body with a bitter dry finish. harrisoni (5129), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 30, 2006 Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Amber beer. Not much of anything. Some hop, some toffee. Actually this got better as I sipped it. I don’t normally like toffee dominated bitters, but this one worked Hildigöltur (5052), København Ø, Denmark Sep 4, 2006 Cask conditioned at Charlies. Pale amber coloured. Hoppy aroma. Fresh hoppy and rather fruity flavour. Refreshing. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Feb 11, 2007 Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Bright amber colour - more amber than golden. Quite dry, with faint touches of fruity malt but not a lot of hop presence or depth. Either this is a rather dull beer, or the condition wasn’t spot on. I suspect the latter and will re-rate when possible.
