Cask; Special - Beer of the month for December 2008.
A warming fireside winter warmer for the Christmas Season - crystal and roast malts give a fiery colour with pale and specialist malts for depth of character, coupled with English hedgerow and tall hops to give a full flavoured beer.

Dark amber color. Nice aroma of caramel, fudge and hops, elegant and interesting. The flavor is in line, but less interesting (more caramel and less hop cones and fudge); at least the final has more chocolate.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at Pigs Ear. Mid brown with a thin white head. Slight unbrewed malt in the aroma with a little tobacco. Fruity malt flavour, slight caramel with some bitterness in the finish and some more tobacco. Dull but inoffensive.

[Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading.] Copper with a thin cream head; fruity malt aromas; caramel flvaour with some citrus fruit; clean citrus bitter finish. Pleasant enough, but not particularly seasonal.
