Commercial Description:
Cask, Occasional;
This name is a corruption of a term used in coopering, of which there are many. In actual fact, a lord was the name for a cask that leaned over and was not upright and from this came the saying ‘as drunk as a lord’. Perhaps the Cooper who made the cask had attained the same level of enlightenment. Medium oak in colour - the favourite wood of the cooper – with a balance of malt and hops from the pale, dark and crystal malts and dwarf hedgerow hops.

Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading. Bright copper with a creamy cream head; earthy malt aromas; grapefruit citrus flavour; clean lasting bitter finish.

Copper with a slight lacing on top. Sweet caramel scent. Bitter and very dry but some sugars in there too. Plenty of citrus hops.

Cask conditioned @ Hobgoblin, Reading. Malty and earthy with slight fruitiness but pleasantly clean in the fresh hoppy finish.
