Cask (Palmerston Arms, Peterborough)
An adequate aroma for a bitter, a bit caramelly. Dullish. No flaws, but a bit boring. Quite quaffable. Refreshing body, carbonation low. Nice barley in the late finish. Straight down the middle UK cask bitter, so not bad for the strength.

03/12/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (cask). Ambrata, intensa, limpida, bella schiuma pannosa, abbondante, bianca e molto persistente.

Bottle from Drink of Fulham, drunk at home on 31st May 2010. Very good looks - light copper with a diminishing cream coloured head. Malty taste - lots of toffee, bread and biscuit flavours. Rather half hearted hop nose - slightly funky. Smooth and not too thin given the strength. Drinkable bitter.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 wheresthepath (1294) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2008
[on draught at Lyndhurst Ale House, Reading] An old school bitter - brown with a long lasting beige head. Deep earthy bitterness dominates with some malt. Bitterness grows to obliterate everything else & leaves an unpleasant aftertaste.
