COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
HOPS! Canniption Pale Ale is a huge beer by Pale Ale standards. While we appreciate a beer with balance and harmony, sometimes it makes sense to GO BIG and let the hops speak for themselves. We add a fair amount of sweet, caramely Crystal Malt to the mash to give it color, and enough body to stand up to the hops which are abundant throughout the flavor profile. Like the hops, the ABV is on the high end for a Pale Ale which just makes sense for a beer of this stature.

On tap at West Flanders. Pour is clear orange with a big white head and great lacing. Citrusy, grassy, slightly sweet, floral, biscuity, and straw in the aroma. Taste is weird floral, slightly grassy, doughy, honey, grapefruity, and almost buttery - like their ESB - though not bad. Medium body with high carbonation. Meh.

On tap at West Flanders, pours a hazy gold with thin white head. Aroma is hoppy, bitter, resinous, some citrus tones. Flavor is mild to moderately hoppy, citrus, mildly juicy hops, bitter finish and aftertaste. Didn’t get a whole lot of malt character. Soft carbonation, medium body, and mildly oily finish. A decent pale, but not memorable.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear yellow pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of grass, pine, slight biscuit, bread notes, hints of earth, grain, touch of floral notes as well, with a hint of citrus. Taste is a mix of sweet biscuit, bread, touch of grain, hints of grass, pine and orange notes, slight earth and spice, finishing bitter, slightly dry.

Tap @ West Flanders Boulder. Pours an orangish appearance with an off white head. Kind of weird tangerine/blood orange fruity, a bit herbal hoppy aroma. Slightly goopy, orange citrusy, chewy sweet flavor. Pass.

Clear honey golden with a persistent and laceful white head. Smells of biscuity toffee and gentle grassy hops. Flavor is much the same with some biscuity maltiness melding into some grassy hop bitterness with a touch o toffee, finishing somewhat herbal and dusty.
