COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Dubbel exhibits many of the complexities that have made this style of beer highly sought after over the centuries. It is dark red in color, hinging on mahogany, with loads of sweet, caramel esters that fill the nose. Hops are necessary only for the purpose of creating balance, but in no way do they compete with the rainbow of aromas. The aromas are a byproduct of fermentation, and our proprietary Belgian yeast strain produces similarities to many of the Belgian classic Dubbels.

Hazy, mahogany brown. Yeast esters on the nose with some chocolate undertones. A bit of apple and nut flavors with some malt sweetness that pervades thru the finish.

At West Flanders. Pours a dark brown with a finger of tan head. On the darker side of dubbels. Settles in minutes with minimal lacing. Aroma is caramel, malty, sweet, hints of dark fruits. Malty up front, mild roast, carsmel, toffee, flavor lets up a bit in the finish, fruity, rum fruit, hint of chocolate, mild alcohol. Moderate carbonation, medium-light body, and mildly crisp texture. A sweet, mildly roasted dubbel, tasty.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish brown pour with thin slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of toffee, caramel, slight DMS, hints of earth, slight spice notes, hints of grass as well. Taste is a nice mix of toffee, caramel, and some slight caramelized sugars, nice spice, earth, grass, hints of bread, dark fruits, finishing sweet.

Tap @ West Flanders Boulder. Pours a copper/orangish appearance with basically no head. Funky, goopy sugary, slight caramel, light banana aroma. Clumsy, chewy sugary, orange fruity, slightly toasty malty flavor with some booze. My least favorite at this place.

Draught at brewpub. Nicely colored dubbel with caramel and toffee in body. On light side for body though. Still, very nice.

Murky copper with a thin ring of head around the edge of the glass. It has a nose of candi sugar, pineapple, and toffee. Has a pretty strong flavor of earthy toffee and some slight stone fruit esters with a doughy yeasty tone on the background.
