Tap@ West Flanders. Clear amber color/ ivory foam. Floral herbal citrusy aromas. Medium body.  Nice citrusy, herbal, floral hoppy flavors with a dusty pale malt base brew--tasty.

August 11th, 2013 - The third beer in our taster at the West Flanders restaurant in Boulder was the Third Kingdom IPA. The burnt sienna color of the beer looks rich and opaque, though the head folds away to a thin bleached halo by the time it has reached our table. The aroma consists of a slight hop profile with a decent malt balance, and a shine of pine for extra character. The flavor is much darker, deeper, and bulkier, with a sweet, thick boozy stripe running right down the middle of the flavor, and a huge pine infused aftertaste. This fresh, mountain taste hums for a long time on the tongue, ending with a quick twang of grapefruit. It’s strong, and maybe a little oafish, but keeps my attention, even where the aroma could not.

Citrus aroma with mild carbonation. Nice mouthfeel. Slightly malt balanced. Poured with ample head and nice lace.

750ml bottle from a friend. Not much to distinguish this IPA from the hundreds of others out there

Tap at West Flanders. Pours bright orange with white head. Aroma is piney, vanilla, caramel. Taste is kinda minty, piney, bitter backbone, resinous, medium bodied. Okay.

Salmoniform (1199) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 7, 2014
Poured from tap to glass. Orange hue with creamy white head that dissipated. Aroma is citrus oil, caramel, grass, grapefruit. Mouthfeel is decent with a medium body and soft carbonation. Taste is sweet initially followed by a lingering hop bitterness. Overall this IPA is a bit one-dimensional but good.

HonkeyBra (3674) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - OCT 23, 2013
Draft sampled at the brewery with TheDude. Pours a kind of a dirty amber. Aroma is citrus, somewhat weird, some caramel as well. Flavor is generically bitter, with no real dimension to it. Some caramel malt as well. Flabby bodied, low carbonation. Not a fan.

Draft. Orange jelly and gummy chews and pineapple and overripe tropical fruit American hop aroma with no noticeable malt presence . Medium body and sweet and highly bitter. Noticeable tutti-frutti esters and moderately harsh pine resin. Very generic rendition with watery, thin, limp texture, typical for West Flanders malt texture. Low carbonation and seemingly low acid give it that flabbiness. Some Simcoe/Citra-like onion and tropical pineapple mixes in with the orange jelly and pine resin hop core. Flavor-wise it’s what you expect of American IPA. The texture is where it fails for me.

On tap @ West Flanders. Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Some decent tropical aromas up front, bread, and grass. Orange marmalade, and grapefruit juice. Flavor is really grassy. Bitter orange peel, some bread, and a hint of tropical fruit. Kind of watery, some sweet malt, and wood/pine.

Ratman197 (10854) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 26, 2013
On tap at West Flanders poured a clear orange amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, pine and light citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, pine and light citrus with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
