Can thanks to Pawola22! Pours a amber/copper with a large khaki head. Aroma of bright citrus, tropical fruits slight pine, with caramel malts. Taste is bitter pine hops spice with caramel malts. Bitterness from the hops lingers throughout covering other flavors. Not bad, wish flavor was as balanced as aroma.

Great hop aroma. Just floral and somewhat citrus on the nose. Nice malt sweetness that with the hops creates a grapefruit like flavor. Not overly bitter for an American IPA. It’s nice to see a good IPA that’s from Kentucky. After drinking two the hops starts to dominate the palate and the grapefruit becomes more floral.

12oz can from sefus12, thanks Beau! Pours a hazed, amber-orange colored body with an inch thick, creamy and frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is citrusy florals with bit of a grassy essence and a lightly sweetened and toasted malt backing with touches of caramel. Flavor is similar. A good amount of citrusy florals and a nice, lightly sweetened caramel malt backing. A bit of a grass note towards the end with a touch of toast as this finishes dry and moderately bitter with a few resins and a light malt note. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid IPA. Well balanced and easy drinking with a good amount of citrusy hops and a nice malt backing. Very enjoyable.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2012 12 oz can This was the first of twelve Beers of 2012 Christmas. The ale poured a hazy light copper. The head was a frothy white with lacing. The initial aroma of yeast greeted you. This ale did not have typically strong hoppy flavors. Flavors of lemongrass and and some bitterness in the upper mouth. The carbonation was soft. The finish had a mild bitterness.

32 ounce growler
Picked up on a visit to the Louisville area this was worth twice the $4.99 price for the growler fill. The selection at the Liquor Barn is amazing and showcases just how promising the regional scene is. In fact I may have to cave and visit Lexington to see what else West Sixth has in the works.

Aroma / Appearance - A carbonated bronze body bubbles like the aeration component of an aquarium. Thin drifts of head drift lazily on top. Grassy lemons, grapefruit, and dandelions provide an earthiness to the hops.

Flavor / Palate - Bitter hops are immediate and assertive. Malty iced tea lingers in the back of the throat. A warm finish of maple glazed donuts is icing on an excellent cake. I was not expecting this and look forward to my next sample from the brewery.

Clear tarnished brass color with a persistent 1/2" bubbly head and a full lace cover that slides back into the glass. Taste is medium pine hops with a nice caramel malt hiding behind through the palate. Very well balanced and amazingly tasty. The 7%abv doesn’t show up, making this a dangerous session brew. Recommended.

Draft at Louisville Beer store, thank you Tyler! Hazy golden color, huge white head with great retention, solid lacing. Aroma of freshly cut grass and citrus. Taste is bittersweet lemongrass. Tasty.

Growler, courtesy Brigadier, thanks! Pour bright gold, white head, good retention/lace. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, tropical fruit, caramel. Taste is big citrus/grapefruit hops, moderate bitterness/sweetness. Palate is soft, oily, balanced bitter finish.

Poured from can into snifter, this one is a hazy orange with a very creamy two finger head, tiny bubbles with a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is pine heavy also citrus zest with some tropical fruits in the background. the taste matches the aroma very well, pine up front as well with some pineapple towards the finish and very bitter all the way through, I am not picking up the alcohol content it is masked very well. Overall this is a great IPA, for a brand new brewery with one canned product this is amazing and I am glad to have tried this. I really hope this reaches the western kentucky area soon, it will become a regular of mine if it does, very nice!

On draft. Slightly hazy light amber with a foamy off white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops and a mild caramel malt presence. Flavor is fairly bitter up front with the malt sweetness coming in at the finish, very light alcohol taste. Medium body with a long finish. This is a pretty nice IPA good balance of hop flavor/aroma and bitterness, just a bit on the sweet side.
