Aroma: Clean but weak cereal aroma.

Appearance: Clear pale golden body with a loose white head. Average carbonation. Light lacing.

Taste: Roast malt and yeast flavours. Slightly nutty and vegetable notes. Quite a ’deep’, sweet flavour for a lager.

Palate: Thin body with a watery texture. Light carbonation.

Overall: One of the most flavoursome lagers I’ve tasted.

Yeah.... so, no winner here. If the description starts talking about malt sweetness you know it won’t be great. Neither is this one. Bottle from Drank van Nap on Woerden.

Keg at the Jolly Judge, Edinburgh. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is toasty grain, doughy, biscuit, faint corn and grass. The taste crisp, bitter, grainy, mild sweetness, doughy and grass with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Pretty great for the style.
