Our Third Anniversary beer is inspired by the classic combination of dark chocolate and oranges. A dark and roasty imperial stout base is infused with cocoa nibs, copious amounts of fresh oranges, and a hint of vanilla. Can be enjoyed now or cellared up to one year.

Smells just like a chocolate orange. So much orange aroma it is surprising. Looks amazing. The head is super creamy and a nice dark brown. Taste has orange but it really battles with the roastiness. The two flavors hit together rather than a fade from one to another. This is really rough on the palate. The acidity from the orange really exacerbates the acidity of the stout base. Overall this beer really suffers from the palate. The acidity of the orange is just too much. The aroma is perfect but the taste just doesn’t translate. Not a bad go at chocolate orange but not amazing.

Dark brown body with a brown head. Malty dark chocolate roasted aroma. Some burnt sugar, dark dry fruit. Same in taste. Not much orange except for maybe some zesty flavours. Pretty solid imperial stout nonetheless.

A decent stout with lots of dark chocolate bitterness and orange peel zest. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ home. Black in color with a thin tan head. Lots of roasted malt, licorice, and some sweet orange. Bitter cocoa and coffee. A little bit of booze on the back end. Bitter flavor and roasty. A lot of licorice, some ash, and sweet orange. Not bad.

Bottle in Glenwood Springs with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown with a frothy brown head and great lacing. Bakers chocolate, vanilla, some coffee, lightly toasty, marshmallow, graham crackers, and earthy aroma. Taste is chocolate, coffee grounds, earthy hops, orange peels, some vanilla, graham crackers, and raisins. Medium body with soft carbonation. Nice flavors, but could use a thicker body, still tasty. 3

Bottle with Steve_0 in Glenwood Springs, thanks to markwise. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Aroma is full of milk chocolate, light coffee, a touch of fruit, and some vanilla. Medium body. Kind of spicy flavor. Tons of chocolate. Dessert like flavor. Fun. A little sweet.

Pours a deep viscous black color with two fingers of light khaki foam. Rich roast on the nose with dark bakers cocoa, big chewy mouthfeel, some light citrus and vanilla add nice complexity but don’t really shine quite as much as the big dark body of this beast. Tasty treat !

Bottle from La Mise en Bière - Black color with a beautiful dark brown head, good lasting and great lacing - Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, soy sauce, hints of vanilla - Flavor is more dark chocolate, vanilla, orange, roasted malt, nuts and hints of coffee - Full body, medium bitterness, pleasant carbonation, creamy and velvety palate, long bitter chocolate finish - So good, i love chocolate beer when they are done like this, to drink with a dessert

Pours a deep brown, almost black. Has a HUGE milk chocolate shade of brown head that eventually disappears into nothing. Aroma is cocoa, slight roast and some toasted hazelnuts. Taste is voluptuously complex, begins with citrus orange which is followed by 70% dark chocolate tastes then followed by a rich and earthy black coffee. It is full bodied with a rich mouthfeel. Astonishingly good.

Bottle... Pours murky and dark brown with a tiny, creamy, beige head that’s gone in a flash. The aroma is a collage of fudge, burnt malts and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Burnt, bittersweet flavor – dark chocolate and acute honeybell and mandarin orange sweetness - with an acrid, carbonic finish. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!
