COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer so nice they named it twice. The only (known) incarnation of Siberian Black Magic Panther Imperial Stout has been this one, a draft-only version aged in Lairdís Apple Brandy Barrels. Even that has only popped up at a handful of special events. To say folks have raved about it would be an understatement.

Black with a thin tan head. Big solely aroma. Smooth applely coco and boozey flavors. Thick and very sweet ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Silky black pour, tan head. Nose is big apple brandy, sweet chocolate. Taste is sickeningly sweet, like drinking liquified sugar mixed with chocolate syrup. Medium-full mouthfeel.

So far we are two for two on me vastly preferring AB barrel Westbrook to Bourbon barrel Westbrook. The AB slightly masks the sweetness of the beer itself by offsetting it with that apple sweetness, and makes the beer almost good. Almost.

Big thanks to DocJ007 for sharing this one with us last night.

A - Pours nearly black with a nice one finger tall tan head, quickly dissipating down to a light film, leaving small streaks of lace on the sides of the glass.

S - Smells of cocoa powder, dark fruits, vanilla, oak, toffee, day old coffee grounds, dark roasted malt and the smooth apple brandy fruitiness. Not as complex as the AB Mexican Cake but still quite nice.

T - Starts off with a mix of sweetness; mainly the vanilla, cocoa, toffee and dark fruits; quickly being joined by the dark roasted malt, stale coffee and the smooth apple brandy. Finish is smokey with some mild sweetness, combining with some light booze burn from the AB to linger on the palate long after the finish.

M - Heavy body with moderate to low carbonation. Big, smooth feel makes it very easy to consume. The 11% is hidden quite well, only really fully coming to the forefront as it warms up.

O - I liked the bourbon version but this one is just better. The apple brandy smoothed the rough edges left over in the bourbon version and it still remained easily drinkable. Not as good as the AB Mexican Cake but I wasnít expecting it to be. I would love to have this one again in the future.

Pours a thick black on tap with bubbly brown head that leaves good lace. Aroma is big on the barrel, chocolate and vanilla. Taste follows, barrel aged awesomeness. Bubbly tongue but still thick and sticky, very nice.

Draft. Poured black with a smallish tan head. Aroma and flavor hit all the classic imperial stout notes: dark roasted malt, stone fruits, mildly bitter, moderately sweet, some chocolate and coffee, faint touch of sourness. Got a whiff of apple in the aroma and up front on the taste. Thick mouthfeel, slightly creamy.

Brewvival Trip Beer 88. Draft at Brewvival. Pours a dark brown color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, faint fruits. The taste is whisky, wood, roasted malts and vanilla. Medium bodied.

Brewvival 2013. Yes. This is what the fest has become. Huge, thick boozy stouts. Black pour with a big, dense dark brown head. Nose was full of sweet booze, wood, spent coffee grounds, cocoa, vanilla, burnt malt. Flavors were big and roasty, boozy, coffee and chocolate. Enormous body, fudgy thick. Big and rich, wow. One of the biggest/thickest stouts I tried all day.

Draft. Basically completely black, thick brown head. Aroma of vanilla, burnt espresso, bitter cocoa powder. Taste is black coffee grounds, unsweetened cocoa, vanilla, subtle booze. Very nice.
