From the July 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a medium sized foamy off white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was tangy and chalky citrus, Pez candies and a touch of air freshener. The flavor was tangy, bitter and tart citrus with notes of perfume, funk, dry chalk and must. The finish was very long, dry, funky, musty, chalky and perfumey. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rosenbergh (4653) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 21, 2012
650 ml bottle. From bierkompass.de.
Golden colour with reddish hue and small white head.
Aroma is hops, yeast, rhubarb, spices and some sweetness.
Flavour is much more IPA than Saison. Resiny hops, strong bitterness, some yeast and some sweetness in flavour. Tasty but not that saison-y.
Yeast makes it more round on the edges.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mjs (3609) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 21, 2012
(Bottle, 0.65 l, courtesy of rosenbergh, 20120721) The beer poured golden and quite cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had spices, sourness, fruitiness and hops. Palate was medium bodied and quite dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, sourness, spices, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, sour, spicy and bitter. Aroma was closer to a saison and the flavour was closer to an IPA.
