3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, yes this could have been fresher, but let’s give it a fair chance.
Amber with an off-white head leaving lacing.
Aroma: freshly cut grapefruit, peach, vanilla.
Taste: loads of fruit, grapefruit, other citrus fruits, tropical fruits, sweet caramel, vanilla, medium bitter.
This had a nice fruitiness I really liked, would love to try it fresh.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
What impressed me the most about this beer is how, regardless of other peoples’ evaluations of this beer, it thankfully tastes nothing like fresh grapefruit: rather, it compliments the ingredients so well that it just tastes like a really fresh version of a grapefruity, citrus hop variety. Coupling grapefruit with Cascade was a great idea. Bright in appearance, fresh, refreshing, and actually pretty respectable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Murphy. Aroma and flavors were of sweet grapefruit and citrus. Nice maltiness in there, and the palate was excellent and controlled. Very good beer.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle dated 19 June 2012 served in a snifter. Poured a murky, orange-amber color with essentially no head. Nonetheless, some lacing was left on the glass, The fruity nose foreshadows a flavor in which grapefruit, lemon, lime and other vague fruit flavors dominate, with some pine resin too. Plenty bitter, as expected, but the bitterness and harshness of a high ABV DIPA are both tempered by a detectable sweetness and some light maltiness.
O: A very drinkable DIPA, yet disappointing overall. Strong points are the mouthfeel where it does relatively well for a high ABV DIPA, and hoppy/fruitiness. A little overpriced; this local SC beer cost (about $8) as much or more than fine beers coming all the way from the West coast (e.g., many from Stone and Rogue).

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of citrusy fresh hops, peach, orange, juicy but still some malts in the background. Otherwise pretty hop forward. Taste of fresh pine, citrusy hops, peach, rather dusty and some grapefruit. Malts are more subtle here.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from Tim. All biscuity aromas with a very faint hop whiff. Biscuit and citrus flavors. Overall it?s decent. As it warmed up it became more alcoholic and not drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big thanks to mikeincharleston for the bottle. Thanks Mike! 22 oz bottle served in a Founders tulip. Bottled July 19th, 2012 (!!!)
A: Pours a clear amber color with a frothy white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin film and bubble collar that leaves splotchy lace down the glass.
S: Big hop oils up front. Lots of citrus rind, mostly a semi-tart grapefruit, and some resiny smells going on. The malt body is muddled underneath, but a residual sweetness is there to remind you that (hopefully) the malts will be there to balance out the massive hops.
T: Definitely hoppy, but the malt body really comes on strong to balance out the residual hop oils. Slightly tart grapefruit rind with a touch of flesh, some lemon zest, pine bitterness and malty sweetness.
M: Sticky body, but the finish is definitely on the drier side. Medium carbonation. Slightly teeth coating as well which is surprising for the dryness of the finish.
O: The was a definite hop bomb with a dry malt body. I think there maybe was slightly too much going on hop and fruit wise, but it was still a solid beer that I’m glad I got the chance to try. Thanks, Mike!
