4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 JesusO (36) - - DEC 23, 2012

22oz. Nice light amber pour, with minimal head. Citrus and malts on the nose. A little malt forward with a nice bitter finish and the grapefruit really shines. Really enjoying this and wish I had grabbed several on my way through Columbia (Too close to the Gamecocks, had to run).

Big thanks to mikeincharleston for the bottle. Thanks Mike! 22 oz bottle served in a Founders tulip. Bottled July 19th, 2012 (!!!)
A: Pours a clear amber color with a frothy white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin film and bubble collar that leaves splotchy lace down the glass.
S: Big hop oils up front. Lots of citrus rind, mostly a semi-tart grapefruit, and some resiny smells going on. The malt body is muddled underneath, but a residual sweetness is there to remind you that (hopefully) the malts will be there to balance out the massive hops.
T: Definitely hoppy, but the malt body really comes on strong to balance out the residual hop oils. Slightly tart grapefruit rind with a touch of flesh, some lemon zest, pine bitterness and malty sweetness.
M: Sticky body, but the finish is definitely on the drier side. Medium carbonation. Slightly teeth coating as well which is surprising for the dryness of the finish.
O: The was a definite hop bomb with a dry malt body. I think there maybe was slightly too much going on hop and fruit wise, but it was still a solid beer that I’m glad I got the chance to try. Thanks, Mike!
