Our favorite double IPA’s are all about citrus flavors, so with our Westbrook collaboration we wanted to pack as much grapefruity. hoppy goodness in there as possible to further bolster the hop profile. The addition of fresh grapefruit zest took the labor intensiveness of this beer another level but we think it was worth it and hope you do too! Cheers! Scott, Rich, and the Westbrook Crew

bottle, from Wholefoods Woodruff, Greenville SC. bottle 09/12/13. good aroma, sweet, citrusy, grapefruit, little breadiness about it. Cloudy golden orange color, good initial head, faded to a ring, spotty lace. Bitter sweet flavor. full body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish that lingers . pretty good, hides the 9.5% well, nice grapefruit beer,

Sweet Grass Dairy’s Westbrook beer tasting. Pours a hazy golden orange from the bottle with thin lacy off-white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, and other citrus, all leading to resinous hops. Taste follows, bittersweet finish. Awesome, hop bomb.

On tap at the Brick Store Pub. Pours slightly hazy gold, with a medium, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is intense grapefruit, orange rinds, caramel, and vanilla. The flavor is very balanced sweet and bitter. Heavy body, sticky, and a little chalky. Overall, this is a nice citrus bomb of a IIPA. Nicely balanced flavor.

Bottle from Sweetgrass at the Westbrook beer dinner. Amber pour with a frothy white head and nice lace. Tons of grapefruit and citrus with a sweet malt backbone. Dank citrus flavor with caramel malt and a bitter finish. Not too shabby.

Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has some orange and coriander notes. The flavor is full of oranges, biscuit malt, wheat and grapefruit. Great expression of different citrus flavors. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bomber to snifter (shared with the Mrs.; thanks Dogbones). Looks good; a semi-transparent deep orange with foamy off-white head. Smells solid; hoppy with notes of sweet pale malt and grapefruit. Tastes like it smells with a nice, refreshing mouthfeel. Good stuff.

11/1/13. 22oz bottle from Five Points. Hazy orange pour with a nice khaki head that sticks very well and covers the glass almost entirely in lacing. Bitter hop aroma, dank, lots of citrus, bitter grapefruit peel, some pine and resin, nice. Big citrus flavor as well, lots of hop bitterness, lingering bitter grapefruit, pine, resin, a touch too much caramel. Tasty!
