Our favorite double IPA’s are all about citrus flavors, so with our Westbrook collaboration we wanted to pack as much grapefruity. hoppy goodness in there as possible to further bolster the hop profile. The addition of fresh grapefruit zest took the labor intensiveness of this beer another level but we think it was worth it and hope you do too! Cheers! Scott, Rich, and the Westbrook Crew

Richly hoppy aroma has a strong overtone of grapefruit. Pours a beautiful clear golden with a thick and rather persistent ivory head. Bold flavor has a hoppy core and a strong citrus note, grapefruit with a little Mandarin orange, a touch of fruity sweetness, barely bitter. Texture is smooth, somewhat firm, a bit lacking in the fizz department. Let the ninja get in ya!

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2013 Big, fresh, effervescent citrus aroma. Fresh squeezed grapefruit; very nice. Citrus is much less apparent in the flavor. Medium body, a bit chewy, robust malt backbone. Finish brings back some of the fresh grapefruit, and a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle shared by jmborggren. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus hop aroma. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation and soft alcohol bite at the finish. Very good brew.

Bottle thanks to icehawk ! Pours a hazy orange brown with two fingers of sticky eggshell foam. The nose has a nice dose of citrus, obviously grapefruit, big sweet malt backbone. The palate follows with a nice dose of grapefruit but a heavy malt profile makes this a full round beer with lots of sticky bitterness. Pretty tasty but heavier than I expected.... guess I was expecting a little more grapefruit juiciness and less malt.
