This is our interpretation of Gose (pronounced “Gose-uh”), a traditional German-style sour wheat beer brewed with coriander and salt. Once nearly extinct, this very refreshing style is making a comeback.

Can from trade with fonefan, many thanks Jan! Milchig trübes gelbes Bier mit wenig weißen Schaum. Geruch sehr sauer, salzig, Gewürze. Geschmack extrem säuerlich mit salzigem Abgang, Gewürze, ungewöhnlich aber klasse!

Canned 355ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko, thanks! Cloudy lemon yellow coloured, minimal head that went away rapidly, quite sour nose. Sour and salty with mild notes of yeast, wheat and coriander. Interesting and likable Gose.

Extremely sessionable, the salinity and tartness make for a refreshing beer. Light bodied, a little fizzy and acidic on the tongue, sour, salty finish. Tremendous.

Can from bytemesis. Foamy pour but it disappears quickly, yellow, cloudy. Faint sour smell, in a pint glass it is hard to pick out much else. Refreshing tart taste, restrained coriander thankfully, salty.

Serving: Can. Cloudy yellow pour. Sour nose with a bit of wheat. Super sour with notes of lemon pith and slight wheat graininess. No salt or mineral notes. The sourness runs roughshod over everything. Aggressive carbonation but a clean finish.

Not a great drink to look at, this pours a murky portapotty brown/yellow with only a small scum of head on top. Offers more to the nose than the eye, sour lactic, tangy wheat and some metallic undercurrent I guess is the salt. This is a beer redeemed when you actually drink it. Deliciously sour and tangy. Maybe the only beer I’ve had where the coriander adds rather than detracts. Here its a nice spicy counterpoint. Subtle saltiness. Great mouthfeel, light and bubbly. Tasty gose and always nice to see a small format sour. Off-putting appearance and meh aroma makes this one to drink from the can.

Can sample pours light yellow. Nose light sour, some tart fruit. Taste tart sour up front, light lemon, then mid palate light salt. Salty sour finish, but not overdone. Crisp on palate.

Can at The Old Toad. Thick cloudy pale pastel yellow, flat. Nose of yogurt, wheat, coriander. Salty coriander flavor, yogurt, nicely tart with just a touch of acetic acid. Very refreshing and light.

12oz can that pours a murky yellow color with a quick disappearing white head. The aroma is sour, salty. Wheat, and citrus. The flavor was quite mild considering the style. But you get a definite salty wheat mixed with a mild sourness. On the end you get a citrus kick. Overall pretty darn good. Thanks pat and jay
